SALVUS attends FMLS 2021

The Finance Magnates London Summit (FMLS), one of the largest fintech conferences in the world is back. The prestigious event hosts a plethora of innovative fintech and regtech firms operating at global scales which aim to cultivate the future of financial technology as we know it.

Nikolas Xenofontos, Managing Director, and our Risk & Compliance Director, Evdokia Pitsillidou will be representing SALVUS Funds at the Finance Magnates London Summit this year.

At this edition of the FMLS, the first since Brexit, participants expect to visit and talk to online forex and CFD trading brokers along with a range of upcoming and incumbent businesses operating as Payment Solution Providers (PSP), Electronic Money Institutions (EMI), Crypto-Asset Services Providers (CASP), and Investment Fund Managers (AIFM).

Our directors are looking forward to sharing their own expertise and knowledge with the industry about the regulatory updates CySEC enacted, and how the FCA and CySEC navigate the post-Brexit environment. In particular,

  • the Temporary Permissions Regime (TPR) and its uncharted and likely spill over into 2022, and
  • the Crypto-Asset Services Providers regime implemented as the latest addition to CySEC’s regulatory framework. On this front, late in October 2021, our Crypto-Assets team managed to successfully submit the first-ever CASP application to CySEC.

Thus, there will be valuable discussions around the future of TPR and the crypto-related regulatory frameworks found in other prominent jurisdictions. It will be interesting to hear about how different regimes continue to shape the landscape around the investment services industry but also a breeding ground for innovation and growth within the space of fintech.

We are thrilled to have two of our directors represent SALVUS at yet another fantastic conference taking place this year, and are looking forward to meeting with partners, clients, and associates.
